Description

First Aid Level 1 is the entry level course on emergency principles and is accredited through the Department of Labour as well as SETA.

During the First Aid Level 1 course, attendees are taught how to perform basic life support and first aid in the case of an emergency. The course covers all first aid essentials and is the benchmark of first aid.

3Y Certificate Validity

The certificate will remain valid for 3 years after successful completion.

    • Level 1 First Aid Certificate (valid for three years)

Requirements

In order to be accepted onto this course, attendees have to meet the following requirements:

    • Ability to read, write and understand English.
    • Basic skill in mathematics.

In order to pass this course attendees will have to demonstrate their skill in performing:

    • CPR
    • Choking
    • Bandaging
    • Splinting
    • Patient treatment appropriate to First Aid Level 1.

Students will also be expected to pass a short theory assessment to demonstrate their understanding of the basic concepts appropriate to First Aid Level 1.
